This included complete Billing and Accounting Migration! This is how this Deployment calendar reads:

30-September-2011 – Agreement with ApartmentADDA signed.

5-October-2011 – MC team sent the Member Database to us for upload.

5-October-2011 to  7-October-2011 – Accounting Data uploaded (with txns right from April till October)

7-October-2011 to 10-October-2011 – Clarifications, Data Verifications and Configuration by MC Team.

Then there was a lull, and we were about to send a fingers-crossed “what’s up” email, fearing we lost the deployment champion in the MC to Office Work or Travel.

On 15-October-2011 we received an email saying “We have gone live Yesterday”

Boom!

LIVE view of Late Payment Interest

When  you view the Account Statement of the Resident, you will be able to view the Late Payment Interest Accrued since the last Invoice posted.  The Resident can also view the LIVE Interest calculation on his Account Statement. This provides a complete picture of the total Payable as of Date, in case any Resident wants to make complete payment including Interest accrued, which would otherwise be known to him only by the next Invoice Date.

Late Payment Interest – Flat Penalty

To charge penalty for Late Payment of Maintenance charges, the Best Practice followed in most Apartment/Villa complexes, is to charge an Annual Simple Interest, calculated by the Day.

However, many Associations have established a Flat Penalty amount – e.g., Rs.500 per month of default, mainly because it is easy to calculate, in absence of an automated system like ApartmentADDA. Even though these Associations have moved to ApartmentADDA, some of them require to continue Flat Penalty for some time. To meet this requirement, now the Flat Penalty option is also available in your ADDA.

We also learnt that some large complexes follow a system of Flat Penalty + the Annual Simple Interest calculated by the Day.  This one’s quite “Interest”ing as it penalizes the Defaulter for missing the Due date with a flat penalty and then starts accruing the Interest! Also available as an option in your ADDA.

1. Store your FireCrackers safely, away from children and sources of fire.

2. Dispose the used FireCrackers safely, in the designated area.

3. Wear well fitting clothes without loose ends. Avoid synthetic clothes.

4. Buy Fireworks of reputed brands.

5. Do not bring Pets to the Fireworks Area. Please keep them indoors away from the sudden brightness and noises.

6. Though Society will make arrangement for fire emergencies, each family can also keep a bucket of water handy in case a burn or fire incident occurs.

7. As a Society we have decided to be Noise-Free this Diwali. Please cooperate in making this Diwali a Festival of Lights and not a Festival of Noise. Noisy Crackers are NOT welcome. <optional>

Enhancement to Residents Database

Member Database of a Housing Society is more Dynamic than one would imagine. Move-In / Outs, changes in email-id, phone number, family information, tenant information, vehicle information – the list goes on. A well kept and frequently updated database deserves a state-of-the-art change log.

Your ADDA now has complete Change Log of ANY update done to your Member Database – either by the Admin or by the User himself. Check out the “View User Edits” link under “Manage Users”.

As one of our Developers said – now even if you sneeze on  your “Manage Users” screen, it’ll get logged.. ;)

Online Facility Booking upgraded

Two important upgrades have been provided to the Facility Booking Application:

1. Slot-wise Booking – As of now the Facility Booking Add-On had the functionality of Hour-wise Rates and Bookings.

Now it also has Slot-wise Rates and Bookings. This means you can have a Morning Slot of 4 hours, at a certain rate, an Evening slot of 5 hours at a different rate, and so on. Residents can choose their Slot (s) and make the Booking.

2. Booking without Payment – In the existing workflow, when a Resident made a Booking, an Invoice used to get posted. Only after entry of Payment against this Booking, the Booking used to get hard-booked. Now, we realize there are scenarios when you are sitting on the late-night flight and realize your little girl’s birthday is tomorrow, and you absolutely need that Party Hall of your Society booked. For such scenarios you can request your ADDA Admin to confirm your booking, with a promise to pay the Invoice later, along with your Maintenance Fee Invoice. The Admin can then use the “Book without Payment” button!

You could eat another piece of the Birthday Cake on behalf of the ApartmentADDA Team :D

SMS Broadcast to SubGroups

An often wanted feature – sending of SMS to Forum SubGroups, is now available.

You can go to the Regular Broadcast Screen under “Manage Users”, an additional option for Target Group, will show up as “Members of SubGroups”.

You can now select the relevant SubGroup and send your email/sms. Bang! It will reach only the SubGroup.

Go ahead! Create your own Cult!

(Please note, some of your ADDA users who are registered in the National Do not Call Registry may not receive SMS from your ADDA. Please do email them to send an SMS “Start 6″ to 1909 )
