Today’s edition of the Deccan Chronicle covers The Water Workshop:
“High-rise apartments might come with the promise of all the trappings of luxury such as landscaped gardens and swimming pools, but the dream home lies far ahead due to scarcity of water in the city. In a bid to educate apartment dwellers on how to wisely use water, an IT firm has decided to hold water workshops in various apartments in Bengaluru…”
ApartmentAdda invites participation in The Water Workshop on 6-Dec-2009 from all Apartment Complexes in Bangalore. Depending on the success of the current workshop we shall be happy to host more such workshops on Water as well as other important topics.

We have a proud news to share. ApartmentAdda.com was cited by Mr. Sharad Sharma – Member, Indian Angel Network while answering a question in the program ‘Enterprise Inc’ on CNBC TV18.
Below are his words and they’re still ringing in our office – we’ve replayed the video so many times : )
In answer to what can a software engineer do who has 7 yrs experience, 10L capital, confidence in his execution capabilities, a strong desire to build his own business but lacks contacts and marketing acumen:
“… [you can] build a small business application that you can sell in the global market..find one area where your application is better than everybody else.. if you do that then selling this application to the global market is not difficult at all..
…you can pick something as simple as ApartmentAdda.com.. that’s a simple problem that they have solved but they have solved it very well and built a business around it. Pick something you understand, learn more about it and make a killer business application..”
To hear his full answer (above are only snatches from it), please see the video:

Thank you, Mr. Sharma. And thank you Mr. Madhusudan Devineni of Gopalan Jewels for bringing the program to our notice.

ApartmentAdda completed one year of operation today! The team had a family gettogether around cakes, lights and balloons. The logo cake was a hit with everyone – chef bakers did a fabulous job! The other cake was home baked – right out of a surgical steel pan! ApartmentAdda got a gift of a miniature ornate brass lamp, ready to be placed in our new office – we just have to find the dream shack now!

Chocolate, Vanilla and the dots!

Party begins..

A year dedicated to reaching out!

Fun. Functional.
The theme of our revamped portal. The simple and beautiful ApartmentAdda now has a new look which is still beautiful, with a small pinch of sophistication and a generous dash of bonhomie!
What we will miss:

ApartmentAdda 2008-2009
“Communication and Management Portal”
This has been the one-line description of Apartment Adda from the day it was launched. It will be rephrased and upgraded to “web-based software for communication, management and accounting”. This is to ensure we give equal importance to the important activity of the Management Committee – adding value to the community with limited funds.
The headline of ‘Communication and Management Portal’ will take the valiant warrior’s place on our wall of fame.
“Fresh sunshine sliding down the slanted rooftops”
The buildings in the old banner are actually located behind the Petronas towers in Malaysia..
What we welcome:

ApartmentAdda 2009 -
The lively ADDA. Well, after all that’s what we are about! The ADDA reflecting the life that buzzes in every corner of an Apartment Complex. The events, the activities and the diversity that makes the place unique!
The lovely apartment-scape. An original handiwork of the designers of our media vendor.
The upgraded usability. All new Icons and an easy-to-access Icon Tray. The frequent users can easily reach the application they are looking for, without having to go through the entire Dashboard.
Our sincere thanks to the talented people of the media companies who have worked passionately to help ApartmentAdda evolve. Kudos to the team for the countless hours of discussion towards the final blueprint! Our love and gratitude to the end-users whose suggestions we have included in the new design!
What do you think about the new portal?

A couple of weeks back the 100th customer walked into ApartmentAdda. Aditya Vintage – a 72 household community on Hosur Road, quite close to Infosys, happens to be the 100th customer.
It marks a cherished milestone for us. We thank Aditya Vintage and every customer in that list of first 100 and the next 100 to follow – for finding a home on ApartmentAdda!
Here’s the clock gifted to Aditya Vintage as a small token of celebration.
